In July 2019, members of the PCO Alliance Network toured some of the most exciting and exclusive venues in and around Cape Town. Here’s what we discovered …
Our members enjoyed a wonderful flight to Cape Town on Mango Airways and were fortunate enough to have been able to take up one their many special rates, that they offer. It is well advised to visit their web page to check these wonderful offerings.
21 July began in the serenity of the Paarl Franschhoek winelands at the beautiful Sante Wellness Retreat & Spa in Paarl. This international award winning venue combines wellness, health and corporate facilities. Next, we enjoyed a very informative wine tasting at Rickety Bridge Winery in Franschhoek, before ending the day in the mountains with a six-course food and wine pairing at the magnificent Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa. The dinner was superb and a real indulgence.
22 July started with a delicious breakfast at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa. From there, we travelled to new and exciting Blaauwberg Beach Hotel, where we were treated to a delightful, quirky visit that included hot chocolate, jelly beans and homemade pizza. Then it was on to the Century City Convention Centre and Hotel. Its vast yet intimate space impressed us, with great additions including self-serve Vida E coffee stations and Marcel’s yoghurt and ice cream bars. The Century City Hotel is perfectly poised to accommodate conference delegates in stylish, convenient and connected bedroom spaces.
Next, we visited the Belmond Mount Nelson, a South African landmark as beautiful today as it was in the early 1990s. We were treated to a charming ‘high tea,’ which has become a local institution! The Mount Nelson has undergone elegant, contemporary refurbishments and offers a plethora of event and meeting spaces, complemented by a range of stylish bedrooms, suites and villas. In the evening, the Tsogo Sun Cape Sun hosted us for a memorable evening of delectable dining and live entertainment from Matthew Jordaan . Our accommodation was fabulous and the Cape Sun staff made us feel special and appreciated!
23 July kicked off with a scrumptious breakfast, followed by a tour of the Cape Sun. We were impressed by their impeccable service and hospitality. Then we moved on to the One & Only Cape Town. Stunning – the only Urban resort in South Africa! Their hot chocolate was quite possibly the best we’d ever tasted. This is a fabulous property with many event options. Their entry level rooms are 64 metered squared – making them feel more like a suite than just a room. Next on the itinerary was the President Hotel Cape Town – absolutely gorgeous and fresh, being recently renovated; each floor has a different theme. The cuisine is delicious: their confit duck is not to be missed.
24 July began at the African Pride Arabella Hotel & Spa, Autograph Collection in Kleinmond. Located in the Kogelberg Biosphere. This stunning property features a golf course that is ranked in the top 10 in South Africa, and the award-winning spa’s signature African Rainforest treatment is unbelievably revitalising. Luxury accommodation, conference venues and event spaces make this venue perfect for a corporate getaway.
A massive thank you to all the exquisite, unique and welcoming venues for hosting us and to Future Coaches and Tours for providing safe and reliable transport.
